Ever since I upgraded to IE11 my Skype is throwing error
Digging deeper – the error is throwing while Skype is attempting to display an ad banner
So not only when Skype came into Microsoft possession it stated to display banner ads – in doing so it relies on Internet Explorer and it’s not compatible with the latest version.
How stupid is that?
I knew modern VB was a powerful language, but had no idea it could do this:

Yes I know, it has been said before number of times. I personally had a misfortune to have them as my provider, so I had a close encounter with the quality of their service.
But today they broke their own record in stupidity. A company I work for suddenly lost internet connection. Turned out they disconnected our service for non-payment! They say they had send a paper bill via snail mail. We never received the bill. So, instead of calling us asking what happened, instead of emailing us (we live in the 21st century for Cochrane sake!) they simply pulled the plug. On a business, causing numerous interruptions and LOB.
Good thing Droid phones allow tethering and some of us were saved by Verizon 3G. I think it’s time for FIOS
As you may be aware Internet Explorer 8 will share session among its different instances (even if you start new instance by clicking IE Desktop icon). Why on Earth this was done is described in this article. The only way to start a new session is to use obscure File -> New Session option in menu, interesting choice, considering that in IE8 menu is hidden by default.
But this is not the end. Quoting the article:
Relying on closing the window to clear the session is not a recommended way to implement proper logoff for an application. Because this clearly will not work if there is another window that is sharing the session.
True, buy why, pray say, session isn’t cleared for one application if its window closed, but another window remains open, pointing to a completely different application, on different server in different DOMAIN?!

Also, aren’t they aware that 99.9% of all users will simple close browser window instad of going thru logout process even if it takes only one click? And in many scenarious, including one above user will stay logged in.
